The reason Lidia recommends Morellino “La Mozza” in today’s Daily Dish is the same reason for her from-the-pantry supper: both are simple solutions to problems that could easily become bigger than they need to be. Sometimes all you want is an easy, no-brainer dinner — and it doesn’t get much easier than pasta with olive oil, garlic, and pepperoncini. And sometimes all you want is an easy, no-brainer glass of wine to go with it. You can’t go wrong with the grape that Italians themselves rely on, essentially, from morning to night: a nice Sangiovese. No head-scratching required.
