As I compose the Daily Drink recommendations, I often have the benefit of feedback from WGBH’s very own Kitchen Crew. The Kitchen Crew is a group of food lovers who have volunteered their time, energy, and ingredients to test Daily Dish recipes. This week, two Kitchen Crew members, Rebecca Miller and Beth O’Brien, are trying out Lidia Bastianich’s recipe for Pesto Alla Anna, and the results will be posted here on the WGBH Foodie Blog this Saturday morning.
Make sure to check back for their feedback — I found it especially helpful because they offer suggestions for serving pesto beyond being “just” a sauce for pasta. No matter how you serve it, Lidia’s pesto recipe pairs well with a crisp — and local! — Sauvignon Blanc from Turtle Creek Winery ($15) in Lincoln, or Pinot Grigio from Travessia Urban Winery ($14) in New Bedford.
